Premier expects market economy restructured
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji Thursday said China will continue its policy of expanding domestic demand next year.
The premier said China will also continue its proactive financial policy and prudent monetary policy, quicken the pace of restructuring and overhauling its market economy.
The premier made the remarks in a report on the country's economic situation and planning at the 7th National Congress of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) and the 6th National Congress of the Chinese Writers' Association.
China to face potential problems
He told thousands of Chinese writers and artists attending the congresses that China must be sober-minded and have a clear understanding of the difficulties and potential problems facing the country's economy in 2002.
Efforts must be made to prevent and overcome various risks and difficulties so as to maintain economic and social stability in the coming year, said the premier.
The meeting was presided over by Ding Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee.
