Hangzhou History Museum, the first large-scale museum featuring the whole history and culture and the folk custom of Hangzhou, capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province, was formally opened to public on Oct.8.
Located at the foot of thef Wushan Hill, the museum covers an area of 13,000 sq.m. with a floor space of 6700 sq.m.
On exhibition in the ten exhibition halls of the history museum include more than 200 pieces of cultural relics that are rated as above level II under national protection such as crystal cup of the Warring States(BC 475-BC 221), jade articals and stonewares produced in the Liangzhu Period.
Various high-tech means also were used by the museum to display the analog views of the banks along the Grand Canal in the Song Dynasty(960--1279) and traditional stores of Hangzhou which has existed for over 100 years.
