120th Birthday of Lu Xun Marked

A symposium was held Monday in Shanghai, east China municipality, to mark the 120th birthday of Lu Xun, one of China's greatest thinkers, writers and revolutionaries.

About 150 scholars and officials attended the symposium and expressed their high regard for Lu Xun. Born in Shaoxing County of east China's Zhejiang Province, Lu Xun devoted his life to the modernization of Chinese traditional culture.

Lu wrote a number of literary classics including "The True Story of Ah Q," "A Madman's Diary," "Kong Yiji" and "Medicine" which have been translated into various languages and won him global renown.
