Developed by Nankai University, a kind of electronic book recently came to light in Tianjin, and will soon be put into mass production.
The gospel of electronic books will help make the schoolbag lighter. Dr. Li Qingcheng, the project leader, told the reporter that the e-books into the households of populace would bring about a revolution in the reading in the 21st century.
What does an e-book actually look like? According to Dr. Li with Nankai University Jinke Company, e-book is in fact a special computer terminal, which has a large display capacity and reading interface similar to books and magazines.
Replacing completely the paper as a medium you'll no longer have to touch any paper while reading an e-book. Aside from this, it has many advantages as personified interface design, easy to handle and quite portable, etc. Now some thirty-twomo e-books with a weight of no more than 700 grams has been brought out for trial, which can store some three million words and also download books from the Internet. Two AA batteries will be enough to go through some 30 thousand pages.
