The publicity of Basic Law is a certain measure to promote the complete success of "One Country, Two Systems" in building the special administrative region (SAR), Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of Macao SAR, said in Macao Saturday.
He noted at a seminar marking the 8th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law that the SAR government has been carrying out the Basic Law and managing government affairs in line with it since his government was inaugurated one year ago.
The "One Country, Two Systems", "Macao People Governing Macao" and a high degree of autonomy have passed preliminary tests. The Macao society remains stable and economic and public security work is developing step by step, he said.
The SAR government requires that civil servants of different levels study the Basic Law, have a deep understanding on the law, and use it to direct administration accurately and appropriately, he said.
He believes that the Basic Law will be even more acceptable by the broad masses and address more practical demand of the people with the joint efforts of the government and social groups.
