Travel Forecasting System Starts in E. China Province

A travel forecasting system in Shandong Province in east China has officially opened, said a government tourism official.

Http://www.sdta.gov.cn, a key part of the system, provides Shandong tourism information to tourists.

The system is made up of three parts: tourism forecast, monitoring and statistics, said Li Deming, director of Shandong Provincial Tourism Administration.

Ten cities in Shandong Province, which include Jinan, Linyi, Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai, Zibo, Weifang, Taian, Rizhao and Qufu, are part of the system.

Tourists can find out the latest information about transportation, accommodation, scenic spots and shopping centers in these cities if they surf the website.

Shandong has become the first province in China that uses Internet for forecasting tourism.

According to the provincial tourism department, telephone inquiries will also be put into use on the eve of the National Day, which falls on October 1.
