China's State Council held a grand reception in Beijing Saturday at the Great Hall of the People to mark the 51st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China -- Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing and Li Lanqing were all present at the reception.
About 1,000 people, including foreign diplomatic missions in Beijing and representatives from across the country attended the reception.
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji had delivered a speech at the reception.
