The municipal government of Shanghai is planning to publish its documents next year and to put them on line.
According to the government, the documents to be published, titled with "Bulletin of Shanghai People's Government", aim to help improve the supervision of the government's work from the public.
It also represents a major effort to optimize the local investment environment, for China's coming entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Shanghai, China's business and industrial center, expects to improve the efficiency and regulate the administration's procedures with this go-public action and welcomes the suggestions from citizens in government's work, said a local official.
Documents to be published include regulations and rules issued by the government, acts and decisions passed by the local legislature, the Municipal People's Congress, as well as decisions about the officials' appointment or removal.
The document bulletin will be distributed free of charge at 200 selected bookstores, bookstalls and post offices.
