Nowadays serfs have become masters of the their own destiny since democratic reform was carried out in 1959, and 83.4 percent of school-age children can go to school.

Legqog said US businessmen are welcome to invest in infrastructure, agriculture and ecological protection since China is implementing the strategy of developing its west.

Prueher, who is on his first visit to Tibet, said he and his delegation were deeply impressed by the region's development over the past years.
