Ericsson Sued for Faulty Phone

A Chinese man is taking mobile communications giant Ericsson to court claiming the company fraudulently sold him a mobile phone which continually failed to work, Beijing media reported Thursday.

A Beijing court agreed Thursday to hear the lawsuit.

Yang Jianchu claimed that his Ericsson-T18SC mobile phone, bought in May this year, had continually failed to work and caused him economic losses and inconvenience.

He was claiming 124,935 yuan (about US$15,200) in compensation.

Yang also claimed the company fraudulently sold him the mobile phone.
