Three ancient tombs have been unearthed in Xingtai, north China's Hebei Province.

One of the tombs which were discovered at a construction site in an urban area of the city dated back to the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), and the other two dated back to the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279).

Buried 3.3 to 5.6 meters underground, the tombs have tomb channels, tomb walls and tomb chambers, which are in good condition.

Cultural relics, including vitreous enamel, lacquerwork, coins and pottery items, have been found in the tomb.

The pottery items have flowers, animals and dancers designs on them. The figural patterns are fine and unique, said a local archaeologist, adding that these relics will provide valuable clues for study on ancient music and dance in the period
