Firms ramping up in Dujiangyan
For many in the quake zone, lives were lost, as well as many businesses. For just over 2 weeks, work ground to a halt at a major industrial development area in Dujiangyan City. But as of now, a third of businesses there are returning to operations as normal.
Infrastructure in quake zone swiftly repaired
There's been rapid repair of key infrastructure recently left in tatters following the Wenchuan Quake. Close to 50 damaged power stations have been fully restored. And plans suggest that 11 more such stations will be rebuilt in other areas. 5 others will be constructed on their original sites and completed before the end of August.
Insurers urged to offer full compensation
China's insurance watchdog is calling on insurers to act according to their duties, and offer all due compensation to victims of the recent Wenchuan Quake.
