Latest quake death toll: 69,016
The Information Office of the State Council says more than 45-and-a-half million people have been affected by the Wenchuan earthquake. The death toll has climbed to 69-thousand 16. More than 18-thousand people are still listed as missing, and over 368-thousand others have been injured.

Overseas Chinese in the US have held a fundraising event for the Sichuan earthquake survivors. The overseas compatriots also conveyed their wishes for the success of the Beijing Olympic Games.

Hu Jintao expresses concern for children
Sunday marks International Children's Day. Chinese President Hu Jintao has brought his best wishes to quake-affected children during an inspection tour in northwestern Shaanxi province, one of the areas outside of Sichuan Province that was rocked by the recent massive earthquake.
200,000 people evacuated to higher ground
200,000 people in Mianyang City have been ordered to evacuate to higher ground as engineers prepare to release water from the Tangjiashan barrier lake. Troops continue to remove debris to cut a channel for the water.
