For many in the quake zone, lives were lost, as well as many businesses. For just over 2 weeks, work ground to a halt at a major industrial development area in Dujiangyan City. But as of now, a third of businesses there are returning to operations as normal.

For many in the quake zone, lives were lost, as well as many businesses. For just over 2 weeks. Half of the large-scale enterprises in Dujiangyan city are located in its technology development area. Of over forty firms, 14 have resumed operations.

He Ping, Director of Tech Development Area, Dujiangyan, said, "The supply of water, gas and electricity started to resume three days after the earthquake. After five days, it was back to normal."

In addition to the government's efforts, businesses are busy taking a hand in their own recovery. They have built tents and provided free meals for their workers. Some resumed operations just three days after the quake.

Jiang Xin, Dujiangyan Businessman, said, "The government has solved major issues for us. But we cannot only rely on the government, we should also work to bring things back to normal."

For those firms that have not resumed operations, the government is offering a safety evaluation and repairing power and water lines.
