Changzhou
Nicknamed "Dragon Town," Changzhou has a history of more than 2,500 years. This rich history has created many attractions in Changzhou, such as the Yancheng Remains – the ruins of this ancient village just outside Changzhou have been around for nearly 3,000 years.

These days, Changzhou has developed into a modern city. People from Changzhou have a knack for creating something out of nothing. They established two well-known furniture companies (Red Star Macalline and Moon Star) despite having no forests from which to get wood. They created the China Dinosaur Museum, the biggest of its kind in China, even though no dinosaur fossils have ever been discovered in Changzhou.
Changzhou has long been a commercial center, particularly in the area of agriculture. Crops and other goods were collected in Changzhou and shipped via canal to the north. However, in the early 1980s, Changzhou gained fame nationwide for its industrial development. In 1992, the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District was established. Recent years have seen Changzhou making more efforts to foster the growth of its hi-tech industries.
