Editor's note: A variety of activities have been held across China in 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of the deaths of the Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu (1550-1616) and his British counterpart William Shakespeare (1564-1616). The British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign launched the "Shakespeare Lives" program on Jan. 28 to celebrate the works and influence of the world's most performed playwright. It is a global campaign and China is a vital part of it. (Read more)
