The Press Office under the Ministry of Health published Tuesday
afternoon a press release on the latest SARS situation on the
Chinese mainland. On June 3, 3 provinces reported new SARS cases,
of which, 1 province reported both new diagnosed cases and new
suspected cases, 1 province reported a new diagnosed case, 1
province reported a new suspected case, and the remaining 28
provinces reported no new case.
From 10:00 am June 2 to 10:00 am June 3, China reported 3 new
diagnosed cases (all of which used to be suspected but are now
confirmed as SARS patients), 63 patients recovered and no
death.
Beijing reported 2 new diagnosed cases (both of which used to be
suspected but now confirmed as SARS patients), 32 patients
recovered.
Liaoning reported 1 new diagnosed case that used to be suspected
but now confirmed as a SARS patient.
The other provinces reported no new diagnosed case.
Patients who had recovered and been discharged from hospital
included 10 from Hebei, 8 from Tianjin, 6 from Shanxi, 5 from Inner
Mongolia and 2 from Henan.
From 10:00 am June 2 to 10:00 am June 3, China also reported 3 new
suspected cases, including 2 from Beijing and 1 from Guangdong.
From 10:00 am June 2 to 10:00 am June 3, China also reported 36
misdiagnosed suspected cases, of which 10 were from Beijing, 13
from Guangdong, 4 from Hebei, 3 from Inner Mongolia, 2 from Hubei
and 1 each from Shanghai, Henan, Hunan and Xinjiang. By 10:00 am
June 3, China had a total of 929 suspected cases.
From 10:00 am May 15 to 10:00 am June 3, China reported a total of
320 diagnosed SARS cases (including 86 new diagnosed cases and 234
patients who used to be suspected cases).
Of
these figures,
- Beijing reported 59 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 158
suspected cases as SARS patients
- Hebei reported 7 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 32 suspected
cases as SARS patients
- Shanxi reported 7 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 12
suspected cases as SARS patients
- Guangdong reported 7 new diagnosed cases
- Tianjin reported 2 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 5
suspected cases as SARS patients
- Jilin reported 2 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 2 suspected
cases as SARS patients
- Guangxi reported 2 new diagnosed cases
- Inner Mongolia reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 15
suspected cases as SARS patients (The autonomous region has
reported no new suspected case since May 24)
- Liaoning reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 4
suspected cases as SARS cases(The province has reported no new
suspected case since May 22)
- Sichuan reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 3
suspected cases as SARS cases (The province has reported no new
suspected case since May 25 )
- Shanghai and Hubei reported no new diagnosed case but each
confirmed 1 suspected case as SARS case (Both of them have reported
no new suspected case since May 28)
Now 1,437 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.
According to statistics standard of WHO, by 10:00 am June 3, 12
provinces had reported SARS cases. Tianjin, Jilin, Guangdong,
Guangxi, Hubei, Shanghai and Sichuan had reported no new diagnosed
case for more than 10 days; and Shanxi and Inner Mongolia had
reported no new diagnosed case for 8 days.
