A Haitian girl was miraculously rescued from under the debris of a college on Wednesday, 15 days after the devastating quake on Jan. 12.
French rescuers dug out 17-year-old Darlene Etienne after neighbors reported they had heard a voice coming from the rubble, medical sources said.
The girl, who was covered with a blanket and supplied with an oxygen mask, was rushed to a French field hospital.
Her family said Darlene had just begun studying in the college when the quake struck, and they thought she had been killed in the disaster.
The last confirmed rescue from the Jan. 12 quake was a man dug out of the ruins of a hotel grocery store on Saturday, 11 days after the catastrophe.
At least 135 people have been unearthed by rescue teams after the quake, which Haitian authorities said has killed nearly 170,000.
