The Czech Republic will hold the first round of its first-ever direct presidential election in mid-January 2013, Czech Senate chairman Milan Stech said on Wednesday.
A second-round runoff between two most popular candidates, will be held two weeks after the the first round.
According to Stech, the exact date of the elections would be announced in early October.
Candidates for the elections would have to get registered (66 days before the first round starts.
