Egyptian PM calls emergency meeting after sectarian clash

Egypt's Prime Minister Essam Sharaf called on Sunday an emergency cabinet meeting following sectarian clashes in Cairo which left nine killed, and decided to postpone his Gulf tour scheduled on Sunday.

Nine people were killed and 144 injured in clashes that erupted outside Saint Mena Coptic Orthodox Church between Muslims and Copts Saturday night in Cairo's Imbaba neighborhood, Giza Governorate, according to MENA news agency.

Sharaf suspended his tour to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in order to follow the domestic situation and Imbaba events, according to the premier's media advisor.
