Philippine security forces arrested a bomb expert and six other notorious kidnappers in southern Philippines.

The suspects, Randy Zamora, a bomb expert, Abdullah Salindatu, Teng Sipi, Muhalidin Paguilan, Masib Inda, Jomari Guimat, and Datu Sultan Tongal, were arrested during a raid at their hideout on Monday in General Santos City.

"Based on our intelligence report, they are planning to kidnap wealthy Chinese Filipino businessmen," Supt. Rolly Octavio, deputy city police commander, said in an interview with reporters.

Salindatu is a member of the notorious Pentagon kidnap for ransom group. Pentagon allegedly kidnapped Yuloyu Lim Yu, 56, owner of Yuking Guan Hardware in the southern city of Cotabato. Yu was kidnapped by six armed men Saturday night in front of Estosan hotel.

The victim was forcibly dragged at gunpoint to a waiting getaway vehicle that caught the attention of security guard of hotel. Yu's captors were asking for 50 million pesos (1.13 million U.S. dollars) from the victim's family.
