In a friendly and constructive atmosphere, Premier Wen met with leaders of other SCO member countries, held broad and in-depth exchange of views on cooperation and development and reached consensus.

During the meeting of SCO prime ministers in Dushanbe, Wen put forward proposals for the SCO's future development and pragmatic cooperation among members.

He said that the SCO countries should rely on collective powers to better safeguard regional peace and stability and promote comprehensive and balanced economic, social and cultural development.

The Chinese premier said that safeguarding regional security, stability and harmony is of vital importance in promoting the development of the SCO and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation among SCO members.

He called on the SCO nations to strengthen strategic coordination, boost mutual trust and coordinate actions and set up, step by step, a permanent and effective mechanism for safeguarding regional security and stability and to take joint actions and comprehensive measures to deal persistent, heavy and effective blows to the "three evil forces" of extremism, separatism and terrorism as well as drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.

Wen called for expanding cooperation in various fields, including economics and trade, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and finance.

He proposed that the SCO members countries conduct research on establishing a SCO food security cooperation mechanism and a SCO development bank.

Yang said that Premier Wen's proposals and initiatives were widely supported by various parties and enhanced unity and mutual trust among the SCO member countries.
