Afghan police have arrested more than two dozen Taliban militants over the past two weeks in the northern Baghlan province, provincial police chief Mohammad Kabir Andarabi said Sunday.
"In the operation backed by national army and intelligence service two weeks ago in parts of Baghlan province, so far 25 rebels have been detained," Andarabi told a news conference.
However, he failed to give the exact figure of militants or troops killed in the two-week operation, saying several insurgents have been killed.
Meantime, he contended that there were no casualties on the security forces.
Taliban militants who have influenced parts of Baghlan province have not made comment so far.
