Former residence of Sun Dianying
No.20-22, Munan Road
Total floor area: 2452 square meters
Building in 1930
Sun Dianying (1885-1948) once served as the army commander of the fifth new army and commander of the third army of Kuomintang.
In June, 1928, Sun Dianying took advantage of the opportunity of garrisoning Mashen Bridge of Jixian County and dug up the graves of Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Qianlong. Sun Dianying took away all the treasures under the pretence of a military exercise.
The Residence is a 3-storied brick-concrete building with stunning architectural characteristics. The building incorporates changes in regularity. The two wings protrude slightly, which divides the building into three sections. The sloped roof in the central section is prominent, which intensified the center axes. The eaves are protruding and are supported by twin corbels. The most prominent characteristic is baroque columniations and foliations at the entrance.
