Yan Huiqing (1877-1950) is a famous diplomat in the modern history of China. He once served as minister of foreign affairs and minister of internal affairs of the Northern Warlords Government. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he was elected as vice chairman of East China Military and Political Committee.
Former Residence of Yan Huiqing is a 3-storied brick-concrete building and features the fusion between classical beauty and innovation of forms and decorations of the time. The most distinctive characteristic of the building is the irregular knotty-shaped glazed quarry tiles on the wall surface, which look simple and majestic. This building once served as the consulate of Puppet Manchu State.
