In China's Sichuan Province twenty-two people are dead and seven missing after torrential rains triggered floods.
The downpour in Miyi County of Panzhihua City lasted for about 20 hours beginning Sunday evening. Nearly 100 homes and over 500 hectares of farmlands have been damaged. The floods have affected more than 20,000 people, and caused over 17-million yuan in damage. About 2,000 people have been evacuated and relief operations are underway.
