In the Fed's semiannual report on the economy to Congress on Tuesday, Bernanke said there were signs of pick up in the financial markets and the overall economy. But he warned that unemployment was likely to remain high into 2011, which could put recovery at risk.
Speaking about winding out massive stimulus plans... Ben Bernanke says the Fed, or the US central bank, will be able to ease off spending on economic stimulus programs and thus lower inflationary pressures. He also said any such steps are still far off in the future and that the Federal Reserve's is still focused on promoting economic recovery.
