Typhoon "Molave" landed in Shenzhen City of Guangdong Province just before one o'clock this morning, with winds measuring up to 145 kilometers per hour at the center of the storm.
The sixth major storm of the season brought strong gales and heavy rains to Nanao town in Shenzhen City, turning the streets into rivers. But, as residents and vehicles were scarce overnight, the weather has had no major impact on local people's life.
As of 2:30 a.m. today, the city had not reported any serious damage. After making landfall, Molave continued on a westward path.
To help prepare for the typhoon and possible flooding, the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters dispatched five emergency task forces on Saturday to Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Gansu, Guangdong, and Fujian provinces.
