Rainstorms have affected over 5 million people in southern China. The areas include the provinces of Guangdong, Guizhou and Hunan.
Cities in Guangdong have been soaked with as much as 500 millimeters of rain in 2 days. As of 3 pm Tuesday, more than 15-hundred people had been evacuated. In Zunyi city in Guizhou, landslides triggered by heavy rains have left 4 people dead and one injured. Power has been cut and water in some rivers reached the alert level. About 800 people have been evacuated. Hunan has seen a record 228 millimeters of rain. Heavy rain is also pummeling the Chongqing Municipality and Jiangsu Province.
