Chinese hurdling star Liu Xiang is on his way to getting back on track, resuming intensive training on Tuesday.
Liu Xiang has been in training since he returned to Shanghai in March after three months in the United States, where he underwent surgery on his right Achilles tendon in December. From Tuesday he began intensive training with specially designed trainers on court. All the signs point to a return to the track for the Shanghai star sometime soon.
Liu Xiang said, "I do this kind of training and massage day after day. To be frank, it's kind of boring. I have been spending 2 to 3 hours on the track everyday, and a few more hours on massages for my foot. I have to rest for the rest of the time."
The injury forced Liu Xiang to pull out of the Beijing Games. But the fact that he's on this training program suggests the 25 year old is returning to his form of old.
