The World Health Organization says more than 11,000 cases of the A/H1N1 flu have been confirmed in 42 countries and regions. Meanwhile, here in Beijing two more people have tested positive for the A/H1-N1 flu virus.

One is a 65-year-old man who had just returned from the US. The other is a 69-year-old male, just back from Canada. This brings the total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland to seven. Meanwhile, two patients earlier diagnosed with the virus have been released from hospital.

18-year-old Liu Xinwei is Beijing's first confirmed case of A/H1N1 flu. After a week of careful treatment, she was back to normal and was full of thanks.

Liu XInwei, 1st confirmed A/H1N1 flu patient in Beijing, said, "First of all, I want to thank Premier Wen Jiabao for visiting me when I was in the hospital. Next, I want to thank all the doctors and nurses for taking good care of me."

Liu Xinwei got sick after returning home from the United States, where she studies. She was sent to Beijing Ditan Hospital last Friday and was immediately quarantined.

The hospital provided a treatment combining western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.

Liu Xinwei was released from hospital after doctors were certain she had fully recovered.

Mao Yu, director of Beijing Ditan Hospital, said, "She's even exceeded our standard checks. Her body temperature has been normal for five days in a row, while the Health Ministry requires a normal temperature for only three consecutive days. In addition, three of her tests for the A/H1N1 flu virus were negative, while the Health Ministry only asks for two. So we can say that the patient has fully recovered and there's no need to worry about letting her go."
