With the May Day holiday fast approaching, the Tourism Board of the Hong Kong SAR is trying to win business from residents in Shenzhen by offering coupons, to encourage them to travel to Hong Kong and spend. Issued by more than 30 shops in the SAR, the coupons are valued at about 4 million Hong Kong dollars.
Hong Kong's Tourism Board says the release of coupons aims to promote tourism and retail businesses amid the financial crisis. It's also added that it plans to continue to boost cooperation with its neighboring city of Shenzhen.
