The late martial arts master of the 20th Century, Bruce Lee, has become the star of "China Day" at the MIPTV trade show in Cannes. China International Television Corporation formally authorized the TV broadcast rights of the TV series "The Legend of Bruce Lee" to South Africa's prestigious ETV.
At the CCTV pavilion, Marcell Golding, the CEO of ETV, and representative of China International Television Corporation Ma Runsheng signed on the deal. China started researching the African market five years ago and finally selected the "Legend of Bruce Lee" as the touchstone. The series has been shortened from 50 to 30 episodes, and voiced in English.
Ma Runshen, trading center manager of CCTV China Int’l television Corp. said, "The Legends of Bruce Lee is only the touchstone. We've planned to air Chinese TV programs in South Africa. In the near future South African people will know more about China on TV. "
The Chinese delegation is also promoting "The Dream of Red Mansions", "The Legend of Yang Guifei" and other influential Chinese TV productions.
