Mike Sommers, the organizer of UK ideal home show said, "Well it's a year in which it's not a good idea to move house and we could already see this way back last May, so what we planned the show around is improving not moving , and the slogan we came up with is "Love where you live". How can you make your existing home, give you the space you need, give you the energy efficiency you want, and, more importantly, and it got more and more important as the year went on, how can you save money on the running of the house?"

So, in a break with tradition, this year's "show homes" are not about the dream of a millionaire lifestyle. They are, instead,two versions of the same house, transformed by two very different styles.
