The Spring Festival traffic rush has always been a headache for the country's rail system. However, this year new high speed bullet trains are alleviating the pressure.
The 14 new high speed bullet trains are easing the festival travel pressure on the busy routes between Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. The faster more convenient trains have been filled full with passengers.
The bullet trains have also helped smooth passenger flow. In Hefei, capital of China's Anhui province, the high speed trains increased the city station's daily passenger capacity by 200% to 10 thousand per day.
