Five newborns were killed on Saturday after a short circuit sparked a fire in a hospital maternity in northern Indian.
Five other newborns were rescued from the fire, including one that suffered burns. All the babies were under a week old.

An investigation into the incident has been ordered by the government, and victims' families are set to receive compensation of more than 2-thousand dollars for each baby.
