China is home to a number of homegrown traditional sports. The Sports Summit, a one-day conference hosted by the General Administration of Sports, featured a discussion about spreading Chinese culture around the world.

Traditional Chinese sports such as Lion Dance, kite racing or Dragon Boat racing combine modern sports with traditional Chinese culture. On a day which brought together the top people in Chinese sport, delegates talked about the value of these traditions and discussed their future.

Many felt that traditional Chinese sports can help promote the nation's unique culture globally. The logo of the 1st National Dragon Boat race was unveiled during the summit. The country's top dragon boat race will kick off in May this year. Delegates at the summit believe this type of event can pass-on the country's traditional sports heritage and spread it around the world.
