Since the show's inception, the model buildings have always been created by the same designer.
Paul Busse and his team at Applied Imagination in Alexandria, Kentucky have handcrafted more than 140 detailed replicas of New York landmarks.
Paul Busse, Designer of the Holiday Train Show, said, "I feel like an illusionist that takes plants and makes them all of a sudden look like a building. I think the biggest challenge is just to capture the essence of what the building is all about because these buildings are not to scale, they're not accurate replicas but they are exactly how you think they look."
There are new additions to this year's show. There's a rendering of the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan.
There are models of four structures from New York City's Historic House Trust. They include the home of Hendrick I. Lott. The home, in Brooklyn was built in 1792. There's also a model of the Park Avenue Armory built in 1881.
The show opens to the public November 23rd. It will remain open through January 11th.
