Plane tickets have been getting more expensive for travel during Golden Week.

Fan Runjun, one travel agent said "The peak time for people returning from trips is October 4th and 5th. From some hot travel destination cities, such as Sanya, Guilin and Xiamen, the return tickets are very expensive. Tickets that are normally 10 to 20 percent off are being sold at full price."

But not all flights have seen their prices take off during the holiday period.

Fan Runjun said "Ticket prices on October 1st, 2nd and 3rd are more than half off the prices during the hot travel period. So I suggest travelers avoid the peak travel rush to save money."

Insiders are suggesting people travel after the holiday, because there is usually a discount on flights and hotels at that time.
