Olympic volunteers have won widespread praise.

Some 1.7 million volunteers are taking part in all kinds of voluntary services for the Beijing Olympics. They include more than 77 thousand Games volunteers, 400 thousand city volunteers and over one million social volunteers. An official from the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee says volunteers have won praise from all circles of the society and have become the best image ambassador of China.

Liu Jian, director of BOCOG volunteers department, says "We hope volunteers can reap happiness through their continuous dedication. They have been working very hard. We hope society give them more encouragement and volunteers can move the world through their efforts."
