Paper cutting is another important element to the Chinese tradition. It's integral to Chinese folk art. During Spring Festival people dress up windows and walls with intricate designs. The ancient art is accorded further honours in the modern area with the China Paper-cutting Exhibition. The third annual exhibition is underway in Beijing.

From Olympic Champions, to Fuwas, the subjects for paper cuts are left to the choice of the artists. The Olympics surely comprise the bulk of the three hundred exhibits at the exhibition. 112-year-old Hu Jiazhi made this cut just prior to the Beijing Olympics.
