Maps (Expo and Shanghai)
The Expo Park is very large; a map will help guide you to your favorite pavilions. Volunteers will also be available to help. A map of Shanghai will help you find the best route back to your hotel.
Flat sandals or sneakers
These shoes are the best choices for those who want to see a lot of venues in one day. Bandages are also recommended in case your feet get blisters from the long walks.
ID
Carrying ID is most important for travelers. You will need to present it at the Expo entrance.
Water bottle
The Expo has many water fountains for free. If you prefer other beverages, there are many vending machines.

Jacket
Temperatures in Shanghai may fluctuate. A light jacket will protect you from potential wind and rain.
Umbrella
It is now the rainy season in Shanghai, though make sure your umbrella meets Expo requirements. Metal shaft sticks are forbidden in the Expo site.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
It's nearly summer and the sun will blaze around noon. But be aware that lotion (or any liquid) in large quantities is forbidden in the Expo site. You will be required to present all cosmetics at the Expo entrance.
Camera
Pavilions offer tourists a huge number of amazing exhibits and performances. You can record your tour with a camera, but be aware that photography and video are forbidden at some events.
