Organizers of the Shanghai World Expo forged some strong bonds in South Africa this week. The two sides met in Cape Town for what turned out to be a cross-promotional event touting both the expo and South Africa's 2010 World Cup.

The famous Chinese folk song "Jasmine Flower" was performed at the event.

With the 2010 World Cup on Cape Town's horizon next June.

Similar promotions were also held in Johannesburg and Gabrone in Botswana, before the Cape Town event. It's the first time for Shanghai to promote the 2010 World Expo in Africa.
