New Comer Guangsha Tastes First Win in CBA

New comer Zhejiang Guangsha won its first game after ten rounds by defeating Jilin Northeast Tigers 111-95 at home on Sunday in the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) in Hangzhou.

The expanded team was led by Gabe Muoneke's 27 points when six Zhejiang's players scoring in double figures.

Jilin shot a dismal 8-out-of-32 from behind the arc which resulted in a 88-68 lead for the home team.

Babakar Camara had the game-high 35 points and 21 rebounds for the Tigers.

Jiangsu Dragons gave away the leading position on the standings which they held just one round after losing 108-95 to the Bayi Rockets.

The Dragons, which ended Guangdong Hongyuan's nine-game winning streak with a 92-91 win last round, let the Rockets score 40 points in the third quarter.

Wang Zhizhi had 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets and Zhang Jinsong and Chen Ke scoring 21 points apiece.

Guangdong regained the No.1 placing of the league with a 132-90 thrash of the bottom team Shanxi Zhongyu thanks to Yi Jianlian 38 points and 14 rebounds.

Liaoning Hunters vaulted onto the third place after a 94-71 victory over Shanghai Sharks.

In other matches, Fujian SBS edged off the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 89-87; Dongguan crashed down Shannxi 122-102; Beijing Ducks beat the Yunnan Bulls 101-93; Shandong Lions defeated Zhejiang Cyclones 95-65.
