Leverkusen sealed a last minute victory against Mainz thanks to the decider by midfielder Renato Augusto whilst struggling Stuttgart shocked St. Pauli with a late winner by striker Sven Schipplock on Sunday.
Second positioned Leverkusen shortened the point gap to leaders Dortmund to nine as midfielder Renato Augusto scored the winner at the 85th minute with a terrific hammer from 20 meters into top left to wrap the ninth away victory.
Leverkusen stay on 2nd position with 52 points and a five-point gap to third positioned Hannover whereas Mainz slipped to 5th position along 43 points.
At the other match, struggling Stuttgart staged a magnificent comeback against St. Pauli, which opened the scoring through midfielder Fabian Boll at the 19th minute but Stuttgart answered only five minutes later through midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic with the equalizer.
Stuttgart's efforts were rewarded when joker striker Sven Schipplock, who was fielded at the 83rd minute, netted the important winner at the 88th minute for Stuttgart to hive his club from 16th, a relegation spot, to 13th position with 28 points meanwhile St. Pauli slipped from 13th to 16th position with 28 points due to their weak goal difference.
