Poland overcame the Netherlands in five sets in the women's world volleyball championship in Tokyo on Saturday.
The Netherlands gained the upper hand in the first set but they were unable to maintain it in the second and third sets. They rallied to win the fourth set 19-25 but were overpowered by Poland again in the last set.
The two teams are competing for the positions from 9 to 12 in the semifinals of the championship with China and Cuba.
