Andy Murray has fired his coach Miles Maclagan, said the player's management company 19 Entertainment on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Maclagan, a former professional tennis player, had been Murray's coach for more than two years.

World number four Murray is currently competing in Los Angeles in the Farmers Classic, which is his first tournament since he lost to Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon semifinals.

For the time being, the 23-year-old will work with former Spanish star Alex Corretja pending the appointment of a new coach.

"I've had a great relationship with Miles over the past two and a half years and I want to thank him for his positive contribution to my career," Murray said in a statement.

Maclagan said: "It's been a privilege to work with Andy as his coach and I'm happy to have played my part in his career.

"Andy is a great player and I know he will continue to have the success his talent and hard work deserves."
