Mexican soccer club America signs Brazilian winger Rosinei

Soccer club America, based in Mexico City, has signed Brazilian winger Rosinei Adolfo for a three year contract, the club said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

Prior to the new contract, the player had been on a one-year loan from soccer club Internacional based in Brazilian city Porto Alegre.

Rosinei began his career in 2004 at Corinthians, one of Brazil' s top clubs, scoring four goals in 29 appearances during that season, and 10 goals in 33 appearances the next season.

However, he was transferred to Spanish team Murcia during the 2007 season after he scored no goals for two years despite appearing 41 times.Internacional acquired him from Murcia in 2008.

America is currently in fourth place in Mexico's top league, with eight wins and 17 games played. The team has scored 29 goals and conceded 16. However, it has either lost or drawn its last six games.

Rosinei has played in 14 games for the team this season, without scoring any goals. During this season he was substituted on for seven of the 14 games. Last season he started in all 15 games that he played.
