Austria retains ski jumping team gold

Austria successfully retained their Olympic title with a 72.1-point victory over Germany in the final round of the large hill ski jumping team competition of the Vancouver Games in Vancouver on Monday.
Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer, the last of 32 jumpers, almost created an Olympic Winter Games record with an eye-poping jump of 146.5 metres. But as his left hand touched the ground upon landing, his jump score was brought down to 145.2 points.
The Austrians are also the reigning world champions.
Germany took home the silver medal with a score of 1,035.8 points while Norway finished third in 1,030.3 points.
