This year's Brazilian national championship Sao Paulo signed a sponsorship deal with Siemens for the next two years.
As a part of the deal, the club has more resources and hopes to bring in the Brazilian soccer star, Rivaldo, for the 2009 Libertadores Cup.
According to Rivaldo's agent, Carlos Arine, Sao Paulo has already actively sought out a deal to bring the midfielder to play with the club.
A meeting between the team's administration and the athlete's agent is scheduled to take place early in this coming week. The agent confirmed that there are two other Brazilian teams that are attempting to bring the player back to Brazil.
The deal with Siemens will provide the team with nearly 4 million U.S. dollars each year. There are still some minor details remained to be worked out, but the deal is nearly closed.
Club president, Juvenal Juvencio said, "We must first close the deal with Siemens. Only then can we think about reinforcements for next year."
